Queensland’s government ‘Business Basics Grant Program’ is returning! With applications opening at the end of this month, 30 September 2024, it’s time to check if your business is eligible.

What is the program?

The Queensland Business Basics Grants Program is a government initiative designed to support small businesses in Queensland. It provides grants of up to $7,500 to help eligible small businesses improve their operations and increase profitability by focusing on increasing the core skills of staff and adopting best practices.

The grants can be used for a range of activities, including training and coaching, website development and upgrades, marketing and advertising, strategic business planning and implementing business systems.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this grant, your business must meet the following criteria:

Have less than 5 employees (including all full-time, part-time and casual employees)
Be in operation and have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
Have a registered Queensland headquarters location as per the Australian business register (ABR) record
Have a minimum trading history of 1 year
Have a maximum turnover of $300,000 in the last financial year (2023/24)
Not had previous funding approved under an earlier Business Basics round
Not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are undischarged or currently bankrupt
